I started a new journal and inspired by Meredith who does a lot of paper embroidery I had a bash myself. It was quite good fun, though harder than I thought! Anyway it gives quite a jolly start to the month.
This journal is part of having a more positive attitude and is to write down the things I have enjoyed - just to make sure I capture all the good bits.
One of my plans for the year is to learn to embroider (last year it was crochet - and obviously still learning!) but more of that next month as I have a cross-stitch project to finish in a very short space of time first!
We attempted to give Rosie a new haircut ourselves ... she was surprisingly good .... and the result is not too bad!! At least she doesn't know it looks a bit dodgy!
I used my new mini-victoria sponge tins with some victoria and chocolate sponges - quite successful and tasted yummy.
If you are on old film fan you might recognise where we had lunch ....
This is the clock from Brief Encounter ... and Carnforth station has embraced the vintage. There is a lovely cafe where Dan had very unvintage veggie breakfast. Very enjoyable.
I've been doing some antiquing too. More of this next time but here's a lovely little cream pot picked up for £6, which looks great on the kitchen window sill.
I've also been knitting ... vanilla knitting as it is called i.e. you don't have to think when you do it, just stocking stitch. Haven't managed to get a decent photo though, so my crafty news will have to wait until next time.
Dan and Gemma are obviously back at Uni but we met up last Sunday to go and see Les Miserables which we really enjoyed - if you like musicals definitely give it a go.
Finally I must just recommend watching Africa in case you missed it (still on bbc iplayer). The scenes of the rhinos at night where fantastic one of the funniest things I've seen for ages - its looking like a great series. If you don't watch the whole thing this is the link to the clip of the rhinos!
Hopefully my next blog, with correct photos will be much sooner! Have a great week.
